Now that the weather has finally begun to warm up, it has been fantastic to see the students participating in school matches. The last few weeks have seen a large number of our students representing the school in football and netball matches against Claires Court, Herries, Thorpe House and Westbrook Hay.

Back in late January the U11 boys football team participated in the first round of the Utilita Cup, with the aim of winning the chance to represent Wycombe Wanderers Football Club in the next round of the competition. After the group stages we were top of our group with three wins, which meant we qualified for the groups finals along with two other schools. These final matches were very keenly contested and despite playing some outstanding football, we ended up finishing second overall and narrowly missed out on representing Wycombe Wanderers in the next round. It was a fantastic day's football and the boys were an absolute credit to the school displaying excellent sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Just before half term a group of girls from Year 6 travelled to Essex for the ISA London North Regional Netball Tournament. The team had three matches in the group stage in the morning. The girls worked extremely hard and showed great determination and skill which resulted in winning two of these games. This put us in a really good position for the afternoon knockout stages. Unfortunately, we had a really tough game in the quarter finals which meant that was the end of our journey. Despite the game being tough, the team did not give up and displayed some fantastic defending skills to try and stop the opposition from scoring. The tournament is a great opportunity for the girls to experience competitive netball and get the chance to work and bond together as a team. We are so proud of everyone who attended and we are very much looking forward to the remainder of the netball season.

On the final Friday of last half term, the U11 boys football team travelled to Howe Green House School to participate in the ISA boys Football regional qualifier. The boys worked incredibly hard during their three groups matches, winning one, drawing one and narrowly losing the other one nil. This placed us in the Plate Competition where we managed to reach the semi final, losing in extra time, before winning the 3rd / 4th play-off after a penalty shoot out.

Aside from the fixtures and competitions it has also been a very busy time in Physical Education lessons with all students taking part in the departments Take One Picture activities. We have been hugely impressed with the students' imaginative ideas and creativity in producing their artwork. Maths Day was also a very enjoyable day with students in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 all taking part in Maths themed PE activities.
