Preschool children discuss the best thing they have learnt this term

What a jam-packed half term it’s been in Preschool! Children have been busy this week enjoying lots of free-flow play in the garden, exploring their environment and developing stories with the building bricks and dressing up clothes. Children have been joining in with circle time discussions this week about the best thing they have learnt about this term and also about developing their friendships. Children shared a story about the ‘kindness elves’ who create potions to help the world to share values such as: love, kindness and compassion. Children have been rewarded with a marble each time they have displayed a value from the story. This has encouraged children to develop their friendship groups and really value the friendships that they already have.

Next half term we look forward to lots more outdoor learning, supporting the children in their transition to reception, a fun-packed sports day and teddy bears picnic. Please look out for more information in upcoming newsletters.

Thank you for your response in providing sunhats and suncream for your child. The Preschool children are beginning to develop an understanding of self-care practices in the sunshine, including: wearing a hat, drinking more water and staying in the shade. They are beginning to understand that following all of these steps helps to keep them healthy.

We hope you all have an enjoyable half term with your little ones!

The Preschool Team.
