Preschool find horses in a field on their winter walk

Welcome back to a new year and a new term. We would like to extend a very warm welcome to our new children Jemimah, Zulaikha, Artie, Madeleine, Jenson, Tom and their families. The children have been enjoying sharing all their Christmas fun with us and it sounds like Father Christmas was very busy!

As the cold weather is now upon us the children have been practising putting on their own coats, hats and gloves and it would be very helpful if you could ensure these are named in order for the correct clothing to find the right child. At home you might like to continue this to promote your child’s independence. We do go out every day and the children had fun finding the horses in the farmers field on Monday afternoon when they went on a winter walk.

We are keen to develop our outdoor provision and the children have a made a tree of hope displaying ideas of the resources they would like to have in Preschool. Please take a look and if you have any of these items at home that you no longer require they would be gratefully received and loved once again.

The outdoor reading area has been a great success this week. Many of the children chose to access this new area and engaged in making up their own stories and re-enacting favourite stories repeating the familiar refrains.

This half term we will be talking about where we live and our immediate environment. We will be researching our local villages and towns and learning about where we live. If you visit any local landmarks please send some photos into Preschool.
