Preschool has continued learning lots of new facts about the solar system and space this week. Thank you to Arthur and Lottie for bringing in their books from home to share with us.
The children have enjoyed getting sticky and messy helping Mrs Mackay to make our papier mache planets. These will hopefully dry over the weekend, ready to be painted next week.
On Wednesday afternoon we made fruit rockets using strawberries, bananas and melon. The children practised their cutting skills as they cut the fruit into different shapes. These were then threaded onto their skewer to complete the rocket. A countdown from ten then took place before the children enjoyed eating their rockets all up! This activity encouraged the children to use their imaginations as well as learning about healthy choices.
You should have all had your slips regarding costume requirements for our Christmas play. Please ask if you haven't yet received yours.
Next week we will be creating a Christmas grotto with the children in preparation for the Christmas Fayre. The children will decide what they think should be in a 'Santa's Grotto' and will then create the resources using lots of art and craft materials.
As the weather is getting colder please may we ask the children have named hats and gloves - Thank you.
