Preschool - On your marks, get set, go!
11th July 2022

Preschool was a buzz this week as we finally got to put all our hard work and PE practice skills to the test in our annual sports day event. It was so lovely to welcome all our families to watch us try our best and have a go at each event prepared for us by the PE team. It was lovely to have some of our parents join in the fun to encourage the children alongside the support of some fantastic Year 5 helpers. We had a wonderful morning and the children were really proud of themselves and what they achieved individually, as well as being part of a team and taking turns.
This week we have also been exploring music and movement and even held our own Preschool festival on Wednesday afternoon. The children enjoyed a story of Where The Wild Things Are and made their own music using a variety of instruments. We danced away the afternoon and invited the Year 3 class to join our spectacular event. The Year 3 children supported our Preschool children partaking in a variety of activities from colouring, decorating bunting, puppet show performances, making our own shakers and even making our own fruit punch for a refreshment.
The Preschool children have taken part in a transition morning where they have got to know their new key person within the lower Preschool and Pre-Reception environments. The children were full of excitement whilst taking part in getting to know you activities and talking about themselves and what they like to do. Our current Pre-Reception children joined Miss Cockle and Mrs Woods for a fun Teddy Bear Picnic in the Preschool garden and eagerly welcomed new friends that will be joining them in their new classes in September. The children were really enthusiastic and full of excitement when telling us about the event, new friends they had made and most importantly who their new teacher would be for the next academic year. I am sure Miss Cockle and Mr Barber are excited to welcome you all back in September and watch you learn and develop even further.
As we come to the end of another action packed and fun filled year our Pre-Reception children showcased their singing talent to their parents at their end of year celebration. We have had lots of fun learning our new songs with Mr Mitchener and marking an end in our Preschool journey. We wish you all the best for your very bright futures.
We would also like to extend a very big thank you to all our parents and FOG representatives for all your support and lovely feedback throughout the year. We have really enjoyed spending time with the children, and sharing their journey with you and seeing how much they have flourished. We hope you all have a lovely rest of your Summer.
