Preschool take a train trip to Wendover

WOW! What an exciting week for Preschool this week. On Wednesday afternoon the children went on a train journey from Great Missenden Station to Wendover and back. We were very well assisted by the staff at the station as they spoke to the children about train journeys, and helped us board the train. There were lots of smiles all round as the train approached and the children took their seats next to their friends. It was an amazing opportunity to incorporate time into the children’s learning. We taught the children there are 60 seconds in a minute and they all joined in counting to 60 as the train was arriving at our destination. This enabled the children to experience an aspect of life beyond a car journey. We used this opportunity to talk about the journey to London and counted how many stops it is from Great Missenden. Lots of children were eager to tell us that their Mums and Dads get the train to work.
