Preschool talk about their fun half-term holidays

Following a restful half term, children have settled back into Preschool really well. We have enjoyed looking at all of the half term Tapestry posts, which have enabled the children to lead discussions around their holidays. We have had lots of conversations this week, particularly about skiing and fun days out enjoyed during half term.

It has been a very creative week for us, as we have continued lots of engaging activities around our ‘Take one Picture’ topic. You may have seen our large scale boat in Preschool that the children have really enjoyed painting. We have played I spy games about what we could see in the painting and even had a go at drawing our own versions. The children discussed their thoughts on the painting and some of the quotes they came up with were amazing: we definitely have some art critics in the making! We can’t wait for you to see the children’s hard work at our upcoming art gallery event.

We have the excitement of world book day next week, where all the Preschool children are invited to dress up as busy bees from our story: ‘Felicity’s moonlight adventure.’ We will be basing lots of our number games and literacy activities around this theme next week and the children will be investigating minibeasts in the garden. Please do continue to share Tapestry posts around your child’s current interests with us. It gives the children some ownership of their learning and also really helps us to tailor our planning to the children’s specific interests.
