Preschool welcome Miss Brennan

Preschool welcome Miss Brennan

Firstly, I would like to welcome Miss Brennan to our team. Miss Brennan is our Early Years teacher and will be working mainly with the transition children. The children have enjoyed drawing pictures of their Easter holiday adventures, describing what they have drawn in detail and attempted to label their own pictures. This has given Miss Brennan a lovely opportunity to get to know the children in Preschool.

As part of our transition activities and getting the children prepared for moving on to Reception, we would like all the children to have a tracksuit in school, to change into for their PE lessons on a Tuesday and Wednesday. The purpose of this is to develop independence and confidence when getting changed. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to talk to a member of the Preschool team.

Our topic begun with some exciting news this week, as the Royal baby was born on St George’s Day. The children were very keen to make a card to welcome the new baby, which has now been posted to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, a big thank you to Henry for posting it!

Next week, we will be making a London book to develop the children's writing skills. They will be asked to draw and label pictures of famous attractions and buildings.

In Maths we are focusing on subtraction up to 5. Our rhyme for the week will be 'Five little Speckled Frogs'. The children will have the opportunity to re-enact the rhyme pretending to be frogs, and will make visual number sentences. If you have anything that supports our topic of London or our rhyme of the week, please feel free to share.
