Queen's 90th birthday celebrations - Chamber Choir
24th June 2016
On Sunday 12th June, the Chamber Choir were invited to sing at a special service at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Great Missenden to mark the Queen's 90th Birthday. It was a joyful occasion with a full church, and the children sang 'Pure Imagination' and 'Sing' beautifully. 'Sing' is a personal favourite of the Queen - it was composed by Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd-Webber for the Diamond Jubilee in 2012, so it was a perfect choice for the occasion. The children sang some complex harmonies and were joined for the chorus by children from Great Missenden Church of England Combined School. It was super for the two schools to sing together and it created a real sense of community. The children stayed at the end of the service to see the lighting of the Great Missenden Beacon and gave three cheers for the Queen in celebration!
