Reception consider plant life cycles
11th May 2018
We have been continuing to learn about plants in science this week, focussing on the life cycle. We have been ordering pictures and even drawing some of our own plant life cycles. The children have been investigating carrot, sweetcorn, bean and sunflower seeds and using the tweezers to sort the seeds into the correct groups.
On Wednesday afternoon we all went down to the field with pots and cauldrons, wooden spoons and entered into the world of dens, mud pies and potion making. It was also lovely to see one little boy in particular showing a concern about the field environment for the animals that live there. He spent his whole session searching for rubbish and collecting it, ready to be put out carefully into a bin. We found Mr Phil at the end of the day and he was very impressed! What a caring and thoughtful thing to do for the animals!
Thank you very much to those of you who have been putting writing examples from home onto Tapestry and I am really enjoying looking at the writing homework too! Keep up the good work everyone!
