Reception learn about the properties of 2D shapes

What a busy and fun filled week of learning we have had in Reception. Our topic focus this week has been healthy eating. The children have enjoyed thinking about ways to keep healthy and fit. We have looked at different types of food and found out why some foods should only be eaten as a ‘treat’ and not every day. We have had a go at mashing potatoes, shelling peas and making our own rainbow fruit and vegetable pictures.In maths we have been learning about the properties of 2D shapes. We have used the lightbox to make colourful 2D shape designs, paper plate shape threading to name just a few activities.
