Reception children complete one minute time challenges

We have enjoyed our time challenges this week, and completing different activities within a one minute time scale, the competitive side of the children really shone through! We had to see how many beads we could thread, numbers we could write and cubes we could fix together in one minute. We very quickly realised that one minute isn't that long at all, in fact only 60 seconds!! In Science we read the popular Julia Donaldson story ‘The Scarecrow’s Wedding’, which linked very nicely to our ‘healthy living’ topic. It was nice to see many children already had a clear understanding and appreciation of how to stay healthy and some of the contributing factors such as drinking plenty of water and taking regular exercise.The children loved exploring the ‘morpho’ app on the iPads, changing one another's hair and facial features to create an animated version of their friend. We look forward to seeing lots of you at our meeting on Wednesday at 6.15pm to introduce our new online learning journeys ‘Tapestry’.
