Reception children create alien menus
20th May 2016
‘Come to tea on planet Zum Zee’ by Tony Mitton was our book of the week. This provided a fantastic starting point for writing our own alien menus. The children worked very hard to add a quirky twist to their favourite foods. We had menus which included delicacies such as ‘eyeball soup’, ‘dough balls with spiders’ and ‘chocolate cake with purple lettuce’. Although we had planned to go out to the field, due to the kind English weather we tested our straw space rockets on the patio to find out which one travelled the furthest and which child had the strongest puff! We have been learning our songs for the summer production with Miss Wilkes in singing and during music lessons the children have been learning the very first basic steps to reading music. All in all, a very busy week has been had by all. Enjoy the weekend and see you all bright and breezy on Monday morning.
