Reception children enjoy first two weeks in 'big school'

What a busy time Reception have had in their first two weeks in ‘big school’! Learning the daily routines have been our main focus. We have been practising how to get changed independently after PE, how to clear our tables at lunch and sorting out our belongings at the start and end of each day. As well as the daily routines, we have also been getting used to the timetable and meeting other members of staff during our specialist lessons such as Art, French and Music. The children have been amazing and have really taken it all in their stride! It was lovely to see you all at the ‘Meet the teacher’ evenings on Monday and Wednesday this week. We would like to say a very big thank you to everyone for getting to grips with sending your child into school in their PE kit. This has saved us a lot of time during the day where we can now focus on other areas of the curriculum. Roald Dahl day on Friday was a great success and we loved seeing so many costumes and accessories. We enjoyed measuring a giant peach in the playground and even tasting some yummy peaches in the classroom, using lots of descriptive words.
