Reception children have fun describing 'Mum and Dad'
26th February 2016
Reception children have enjoyed listening to the stories ‘My Mum’ and ‘My Dad’ by the author Anthony Browne. Using descriptive words we have been thinking of comparisons to describe our parents. e.g. My Dad is as strong as a gorilla. The children then used the Interactive Whiteboard and the teachers loved reading the things they had chosen to say about their Mummys! During our ICT lesson the children had great fun being introduced to the ‘Puppet Pals’ app. We really saw their imaginations come to life and some of the voices that they used for the different characters in their puppet shows were fabulous. We are looking forward to developing this further over the term. On Thursday Hayden bought in a game of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ which we had fun playing, focussing on taking turns and sharing. It was perfect for our theme of ‘Traditional Tales’ for World Book Day next Friday.
