Reception children have fun exploring dinosaurs
13th January 2017
Welcome back and Happy New Year Reception. We have really enjoyed hearing about the fantastic family time you have all had over the Christmas holidays and about lots of exciting new toys and games. We have had some lovely dinosaur projects, dinosaur fact cards, dinosaur models and information books brought in from home, stimulating lots of wonderful discussions amongst the children. This is going to be a very popular topic! In Science we will be learning about ‘The Hospital’ and are looking forward to a visit from the school nurse where she will be telling us about some of the jobs she does on a daily basis. We have also extended our vocabulary in Maths by looking at the phrases ‘greater than’ and ‘fewer’. This could be encouraged further at home by discussing who has the greatest pile of peas on their plate, or who has the fewest!!
