Reception children plant bean seeds in Science

Despite being a shorter week at school this week, Reception has still managed to cram lots in and be rather busy! On Tuesday, the children loved imagining they were astronauts and had to decide which 10 items they would like to take in their own rocket up to space. Some really fantastic ideas and it sounds like lots of family members will be blasting off to the moon soon! We have also been studying the orbit of the Earth and the moon around the sun and thinking about night time and day time around the world. On Thursday we planted our very own bean seeds as part of our Science lesson. We had to be very careful as we placed the seeds into the snuggly compost and we will need to make sure we water them regularly. We are looking forward to watching them grow and keeping a diary of their progress. You will have found a form in your child’s home/school communication book this week, please may we ask you all to write down a few sentences about things that your child has been enjoying at home with you. Including any personal achievements, clubs they may have started during the year and progress they have made. You might like to also include some comments that your child has made about school. These comments are going to be included in your child's report at the end of the year.

Many thanks.
