Reception children talk about Advent in RE

'Harvey Slumfenburger's Christmas Present' has set the Christmas scene this week as our book of the week in Reception. We have been excited to talk about Advent in RE and have started our own Christmas countdowns in class. The children enjoyed making their own Christingles, talking about what each part represents, and our very own sparkling miniature Christmas trees too. In Maths this week we have been been writing and calculating our own number sentences out in the garden and thinking about finding the largest number and counting on. At lunch times we have carried on our discussions about proteins and carbohydrates and the children have enjoyed identifying both food groups when eating at the dinner table. Can any of your children tell you what they are eating at tea time at home? Please could we remind you to bring in your child's Christmas play costume by Monday 5th in preparation for our dress rehearsal. We are so excited to see you on Friday 9th at 11am for our Christmas production!
