Reception - Christmas letters and crafts

Reception have been busy getting well and truly into the Christmas spirit these last few weeks. They have been putting their fine motor skills to good use whilst making paper chains to decorate the classrooms, helping the elves in their workshop by wrapping presents and most importantly, they have written letters to Father Christmas. The children then enjoyed writing the envelopes for the letters before a walk to the postbox to individually pop each letter in the postbox. All very exciting.

They have been using their Maths skills to help the elves count one more than and one less than with each present to make sure that Father Christmas and the Elves have the sleigh ready and packed for Christmas Eve.

Pre-School came over for a morning full of festive, creative fun where Christmas trees were created and stars. Reception was so welcoming and they can’t wait for another visit from Preschool students in the new year.

The excitement doesn’t stop there though, Reception have been working very hard, learning lines, singing songs and practising for their performance of The Boogie Woogie Nativity. To no surprise from the title, yes, lots of dancing was involved. The children did so well and they gave a performance to their parents that they should be extremely proud of.
