Reception complete first full week in 'big school'

What a busy time Reception have had during their first full week in ‘big school’! The teachers have been very impressed with how well the children have been taking responsibility of their personal belongings at the start of each day. It has been lovely to see them already adapting to the school routines and taking that first step to becoming independent learners. Lunch in the school hall has worked very well and we have seen some really super table manners during this time. Well done boys and girls! In Forest School this week we focussed on the Julia Donaldson story ‘Stickman’ and as a class enjoyed making a stickman character after talking about stick safety when out and about. We are looking forward to meeting you all during the ‘Meet the teacher’ sessions on Monday and Wednesday of next week. If you have not already done so, please can you make sure you sign up for your ten minute consultation time. On Friday 23rd September, Reception will be visiting Bekonscot Model Village. Your child will need a packed lunch in a clearly named plastic bag. All children will be wearing normal school uniform and they will not need to bring their book bag in that day. Please keep fingers crossed for nice weather!
