Reception watch their amazing beans start to grow
24th May 2019

We have had another successful week full of learning and discoveries. In our Literacy lesson we have enjoyed reading a story ‘Come To Tea On Planet Zum-Zee’ by Tony Mitton. We took this story as an inspiration to our Alien menu that we were writing on Tuesday. We were thinking of weird and wonderful meals that an alien might like to eat. We enjoyed working in pairs and discussing our ideas. We all agreed that snail gloop, slimy soup or crunchy beetle cookies would be one of the best choices on our menu. What a fantastic imagination we have!
In Maths we have learnt about how many things make a pair. We loved pegging up socks on a washing line working out how many children could wear them. Singing the song ‘Love My Socks’ was a lovely way to finish one of our Maths lessons. We can now sing this song anytime we are putting our socks on!
We have also been amazed how quickly our beans are growing. It looks like we are looking after them well. We will be bringing them home soon to show you our gardening achievements.
