Reception decorate a poppy
10th November 2017
It has been non stop this week and our feet have hardly touched the ground! The children all enjoyed reciting their poem ‘The toys playtime’ by Tony Mitton to Mrs Kemp and they did very well. Thank you for putting in so much time and effort in at home to help your child learn to say this confidently and clearly. On Wednesday, we worked together in 2 groups to sequence the story of ‘I love you blue kangaroo’ by Emma Chichester Clark. This may seem like an easy task but, the children had to do this BEFORE reading the story! We learnt how to look closely at the illustrations, searching for clues that could help us. A great challenge for Reception but one that was certainly met by all involved! On Friday we listened carefully to the ‘Remembrance Assembly’ and then chose our own way to decorate a poppy outline. Finally, we would like to bid Mrs Sutton a fond farewell as she starts her maternity leave. We have loved having you here with us this term and we will keep in contact with you via facetime! We all wish you love and good luck for the busy time ahead!
