Reception enjoy celebrating the Queen's 90th birthday

What a fantastic start to the week celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday. Reception enjoyed making some bunting, their own Union Jack flags and even making some scrummy fruit punch and decorating gingerbread biscuits. The children all thoroughly enjoyed performing ‘Sing’ with the rest of the school for you all to watch and enjoy. During English we thought of many questions we would ask Her Majesty the Queen if she came to visit us. We had lots of super ideas such as ‘Do you like football?’, ‘What is your favourite colour?’ and ‘Why do you have so many soldiers?’. We had to think carefully about our question words and where to position our question mark. Also this week the children have had fun making their own split pin clocks and using them to tell various times. We would like to remind you that your child will need to bring in some pyjamas for their swimming lessons on both Monday 20th and 27th June. On Friday 24th June Reception will be on a trip to Shortenills Environmental Centre. A separate Clarion Call message has been sent out regarding this. Any questions please see Miss Topping or Miss McCarthy. Please could we also ask that your child’s costume for the play is in school by Friday 24th June. Thank you.

We are also delighted to announce that £770 was raised at our mini-mudder for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Thank you to everyone who took part and supported the event.
