A glorious start to the summer term last week has meant the children have been enjoying lots of fun in the sun. World Book Day was a great success and the children thoroughly enjoyed coming in as their favourite story book character.
This term, Reception have been introduced to the ‘Positive Playground Pot’ and each child on their return to the classroom show how their playtime went with the help of a lollipop stick! This allows the adults and children to discuss anything that might have upset the child and to think of strategies to avoid them feeling like that again.
We have started our new topic of ‘Space’ for this half term and the children have enthusiastically shared their knowledge and understanding to their ‘talking partners’. This is certainly going to be another popular topic!
This term we are really focussing on the children’s independent writing and this will be reinforced by the homework each weekend. Please try to encourage your child to spell each word independently by listening to the sounds in each word. Any additional examples of work done at home would be great to see on Tapestry.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
