Reception have fun creating sparkly dinosaur footprints
27th January 2017
Dinosaurs, dinosaurs, dinosaurs! It's been dinosaurs galore this week in Reception! The children have had a great time creating some very colourful and sparkly dinosaur footprints with Miss Byrne, imagining they might belong to a variety of carnivores or herbivores. We have also had a go at making our very own dinosaur fossils using salt dough. We kneaded the dough to make it soft and then we used small dinosaurs to create an impression in the dough. They look very realistic! In maths this week, we have been focussing on our number bonds to 10. We have used toy dinosaurs, interactive games and have even learnt a new chant to help us to remember which pairs of numbers go together to make 10. On Wednesday we were excited to see the ‘big reveal’ of our Take One Picture painting ‘The Graham Children’ by William Hogarth. We are looking forward to working on lots of different activities based around the painting after half term.
