Reception go on a magical journey
7th October 2016
What a busy week Reception have had! We have continued with our topic of Journeys by reading the story of ‘The Magic Bed’. The story is about a little boy called Georgie who purchased a new bed from an antique shop and found that it would take him on magical journeys. We all had fun playing the ‘I wonder’ game before listening to the story and we came up with some really imaginative suggestions. “I wonder if the bed is a transformer”, “I wonder if the bed has wheels to move”, and “I wonder if the tiger is real or a teddy” were some of our thoughts. The children have been using positional language in Maths this week and thinking about their choice of words to describe the location of a teddy around the classroom. You might like to play this game at home too with a favourite toy! As we are sure you are all pleased to see, your child has been bringing home their reading/phonics folder this week. Please can you ensure that your child brings this into school each day, as we will be sending home new sound cards, green and red word cards and reading books.
