Reception have fun at the seaside!
14th June 2019

Despite this week being rather a wash out in regards to the weather, it hasn’t meant the fun and learning has stopped in Reception! We have continued to learn about beaches and seas and in particular, talk about seaside holidays of the past. We have investigated what it was like to go to the seaside in the Victorian times and the children loved looking at pictures of Queen Victoria. They were surprised to hear that Miss Topping wasn’t alive at the same time! Reception have also been discussing capacity. They used a variety of measuring cylinders to measure the same amount of liquid and predict which cylinder was going to hold the most. They were surprised to discover that the tallest cylinder didn’t always mean it would hold the most!
