Reception - Power of positivity

How to catch a star by Oliver Jeffers has provided us with the inspiration for our English lessons this week. It has been fantastic to see how the children's confidence in independent writing is growing day by day. We have been learning about story structure, ordering key events, writing about who we would most love to meet and finished off the week completing our positivity stars. Here the children had to think of 5 positive words to describe themselves. The children enjoyed sharing their work and it was fantastic to hear so many words of encouragement and praise being spread amongst friends. In Maths we have continued to focus on measurement and have been consolidating our knowledge and understanding of addition of numbers to 20 and beyond. A very busy week, filled to the brim with challenge, striving for success and of course fun!
