Reception reflect upon last week's exciting trip

Another busy week has flown by in Reception and half term is already almost upon us! We loved talking about our trip when we returned to school on Monday morning and discussing our favourite parts of the day. The coach journey, train spotting and of course enjoying a packed lunch were amongst our highlights. We have been lucky to visit the staff in the kitchen this week as part of our Science lesson. We learnt lots about food hygiene, all of the utensils that are used and just how much needs to be done to prepare our yummy school lunches. Your child will have bought home their reading books this week and are no doubt very excited to share them with you at home! Please can we ask that your child brings their book back to school each day in their reading folder. This will allow us to exchange the books when they are ready to move on. Please can you also ensure that you write in your child’s home/school communication book so we know what you have done at home. Thank you to everyone who bought in donations for our Harvest festival box. We had a great assembly on Friday morning and enjoyed singing our Harvest songs with the whole school. We look forward to seeing you at the Parental Guidance session on Monday evening for a little bit more of an insight to what we do in Reception in both our Phonics and Maths sessions.
