Reception children remember favourite characters from 'Toy Story'

Reception have had another busy week in the lead up to the end of their first term in ‘big school’. As part of our topic ‘Toys and Play’ we have been very lucky to watch parts of a children’s favourite animation, ‘Toy Story’. Lots of the children were able to recognise and name some of the most loved characters and remembered ‘Slinky’ the dog from our previous ‘old and new’ toys sorting activity. The children have enjoyed using the ‘marble run’ on the interactive whiteboard as an introduction to number bonds to 10. We were very impressed to see many of the children already having a good grasp of this concept. Also this week, lots of the children have been very keen to do some independent writing, using their phonic knowledge. We have seen stories, labels and lists. Any encouragement to continue doing this at home would be great. We have enjoyed talking with all of you this week at our Parent Consultation evenings and have been very proud of all of the efforts and progress the children have already made so far this year.

Thank you to those of you who have already brought in costumes but can we remind you that we require all costumes in school by Monday 30th November at the latest ready for the dress rehearsal on Tuesday 1st December. We are looking forward to seeing all of the children dressed up!

Our school Christmas Production of ‘Hey Ewe!’ is at 11am in the School Hall (G1) on Friday 4th December. We look forward to seeing you there.
