Reception thought about different 'Journeys'

Reception thought about different 'Journeys'

We have had another busy week in Reception. All of the children have loved talking about going on their holidays and which modes of transport they travelled on to get to their destinations, linking in perfectly with our topic of 'Journeys'. We even discussed how exciting it would be to travel in a hot air balloon or under the sea in a submarine!! During our singing and music lessons we have been learning some fantastic autumnal songs which we are looking forward to singing altogether in our whole school harvest assembly on Monday 28th September. In readiness for this special assembly your child might like to bring in a food donation next week to collect in our very own harvest box. Please may we ask that no fresh produce is bought in, only long lasting foods such as tins, biscuits, cereals and long life juices, these would be ideal. Following on with our harvest theme, Reception have also been learning about the four seasons this week, focussing on our current season of Autumn. We especially enjoyed going to the school field for our 'muddy morning' on Thursday and studying the different shapes, sizes and colours of the leave that had fallen from the trees.

Please may we remind you that alongside all uniform being clearly named, can you ensure your child's snack is also named. Thank you for your prompt responses with the menus this week. This will continue to happen on a weekly basis and please ensure the menus are returned to school with your child’s lunch choices by the Wednesday at the latest.

We are looking forward to meeting with you all on Tuesday 22nd and Thursday 24th next week for our 'Meet the teacher' evenings.
