Reception visit Whipsnade Zoo

RecbutterflyWhat a lovely way to finish our last full week in Reception, a visit to Whipsnade Zoo! The sun was shining, the animals were seeking shade and our picnic in the fresh air was just perfect! We all had a fantastic day. The highlight of the day was visiting the newly opened butterfly park. With over 1,000 different species of butterfly under one roof the children spotted so many colours, sizes and shapes fluttering around them. We were also very fortunate to watch the bird display and see the sea lions swimming under water. We can’t quite believe that this year is nearly at an end. When looking back with the children it was amazing to see them remember so many highlights that have made their Reception year such a fun one. In particular, South Pacific Day, swimming lessons, Take One Picture pirate themed week, both productions and of course the first day of wearing their own school uniform! Well done Reception, we are really proud of you and we hope you all have a fantastic summer holiday. We look forward to hearing and seeing you progress even further in Year 1!

Lots of love for your future school days.

Next week

Please can your child bring in a named plastic bag as over the last two days, displays will be taken down and school work taken home. Please can we remind you that on the final day there will be a small party where we have asked you to bring in a small item of food. To make this easier we have asked each child to bring in one thing as we don’t want an overload of food that will probably end up being wasted. The children will be having a ‘hot dog’ lunch and the party is in the afternoon.
