School Council

On Tuesday this week the newly elected class representatives met for the inaugural meeting of the term. The School Council is drawn from all classes in Years 3-6 and meets every Tuesday. In recent years the children have worked to; raise a significant amount of money for Children in Need and Comic/ Sport Relief, make improvements to the playground equipment and playtime activities and improve the school lunches.

As ever, in the term’s first meeting, the children elected the chairperson – who runs each meeting and the secretary – who not only takes the minutes, but also shares them with all the staff through the Google Drive. Once again several children were eager to take on the responsibilities, but after two close votes the children elected Jonny K Yr6 as their chairperson and Tilly W Yr5 as their secretary.

The children will meet next Tuesday to begin considering various initiatives to support the development of the school, before moving onto Comic Relief fundraising before half term.
