Skipping Workshop
3rd February 2017
On Tuesday 31 January Skipping Workshop’s came into school to demonstrate skipping activities to children in year 1-6. Skipping Workshops have presented such demonstrations in over 10,000 schools throughout the UK & Ireland, as well as across Europe. They have represented the UK in international skipping events, and have appeared several times on TV, including Blue Peter, Record Breakers, BBC TV News and SMTV Live. Their aim is to encourage children and adults to skip for health, fun and fitness.
The children thoroughly enjoyed their skipping sessions learning lots of new skills. There was something for everyone right from basic jumping the rope to cross over, pretzel and double dutch skipping.
There was also a dedicated session for our playground leaders to learn new skills and games to teach the other children at lunch time. The playground leaders will start their sessions next week.
Lots of children have already purchased a rope but if you missed out please go to www.skipping-workshops.co.uk to purchase one. They are only allowed to use it in school if it has their name on it.
