U10 Football V St Bernard's

It was great to get all of the Year 5 boys back out on the football field last week to put into practice some of the things we have worked on in games and club. One of the main areas of focus has been applying pressure when the opposition has possession and the boys showed improvement in this particularly in the second half of both games. The matches were very well matched and ultimately ended in a Gateway victory and a draw.

U9 Touch Rugby v York House

All of the U9 boys, along with two girls from rugby club, travelled to the Hertfordshire countryside to play touch rugby with York House. With four evenly matched games taking place simultaneously, there was some excellent rugby played and it was great to see so many of the children growing in confidence as they games progressed. The afternoon was capped with a lovely match tea in the school's dining room.

U11 Football v St Bernard's and Long Close

Twenty U11 boys travelled to St Bernard's for a triangular fixture against the hosting school and Long Close. It is the first time that we have faced Long Close and we couldn't have been more evenly matched with both games against them ending in a draw. We then faced St Bernard's in two exciting games that went right to the wire. The games were lit up by some brilliant goalkeeping by Zach C and Charlie M as well as some magnificent goals from Zac S-W, JJ S and Eddie S.
