U10 Football v Thorpe House - Friday 7 February

The Y5 boys travelled to Thorpe House and were divided into three small sided games. The small sided format is something we often do in lessons and club as it is hugely beneficial for player involvement. This proved to be the case again on Friday where we saw some of the less experienced boys emerge and begin to have more impact on their games. Thorpe House proved too strong in terms of the match result but the boys never gave up and we managed to score some good goals along the way.

U9 Football and Netball with St Teresa's and Dair House - Tuesday 11 February

We hosted a feast of sport at Sprinters on Tuesday and welcomed both St Teresa's and Dair House for matches that enabled us to give opportunities to all of the children in Y4. Despite the cold and windy conditions, all of the children played their part and will have learnt a lot from the experience. There were a number of wins for Gateway across the sports and importantly, lots of goals were scored making for an enjoyable afternoon.

U11 Football v Gayhurst - Wednesday 12 February

Two teams of Y6 boys travelled to Gayhurst to play 9v9 football for the first time this season and the matches were exciting, even contests. Mr Butler was most pleased by the quality of passing on show from both Gateway teams which has been a running theme for this group of children throughout the season. The games eventually finished in a draw and a narrow defeat with goals from Jack S, Harry B and Dev S (2).

U8 Football v Thorpe House - Thursday 13 February

We concluded another busy term of fixtures with our first boys match for Y3. The excitement was evident as the teams were driven to Thorpe House by mini-bus. On arrival, we split the children into three 5v5 teams and sent them to their pitches. The goals were flying in and it was clear to see the enjoyment the boys were getting from representing their school for the first time. Despite the power being out in the pavillion (meaning no hot dogs), the afternoon concluded with snacks, drinks and lots of smiles.

U11 Netball v Gayhurst - Wednesday 12 February

On Wednesday Gayhurst came over for a friendly fixture. All of the year 6 girls got to play, which was fantastic! The girls were in high spirits and the sun was shining. There was a fantastic standard of netball played, which resulted in some wins for our teams. The girls showed great sportsmanship, and even changed out of their positions in order to even up the matches. We are so proud of all the year 6 girls for the amazing progress that they have made in netball so far.
