Wednesday - U11 Football v Thorpe House

On Wednesday the U11 boys' football team played in sunny conditions against Thorpe House at Prestwood. Three matches were played across the afternoon, with all the boys working hard and putting in good team performances. Each of the Gateway teams defended diligently and were able to use good interlinking play and passing to create goal scoring opportunities. Each of the games were closely contested and the boys' put excellent attacking and defensive pressure on Thorpe House. It was fantastic to see each player putting in a great level of effort for their team throughout the fixture.

Tuesday - U9 Gateway Football Festival

This was the inaugural Gateway Football Festival in this particular guise and it was threatened by heavy rainfall. However, after inspecting the pitches in the morning, the decision was made for play to commence. This proved the right decision as we were treated to a real feast of football with schools travelling from far and wide to join us. Bruern Abbey, Gayhurst, Dair House, Thorpe House, St Teresa's, Chesham Prep and St Bernard's were all in attendance meaning that approximately 120 children were participating. We did have trophies on offer for the tournament winners too and having played brilliantly all afternoon, it was Gateway that won both. Well done to all of the children who took part.

Wednesday - U11 Netball v Pipers Corner and Gayhurst

On Wednesday we travelled to Pipers Corner to play matches against the host school and Gayhurst. The girls played some good netball against really tricky opposition and those who played outside showed real resilience in cold conditions. It is always good to play against strong opponents and the girls learnt a lot, particularly about the importance of movement to get free when you are tightly marked.
