Children in Need

Children in Need has been a wonderful success. The student council came up with 2 initiatives. The first was the picnic lunch, it was lovely walking around the classrooms and seeing the children eating together with their classmates.

The second initiative was a book sale, we received an overwhelming number of books. The children really enjoyed choosing several books to take home. The left over books will be donated to FOG to be sold at a later date.

Thank you for supporting these initiatives, we have raised approximately £450 today which is a fantastic effort.

ISA Rugby - Friday 9th November

Twelve Year 6 Boys made the trip to Bedford Athletic Rugby Club last Friday for the U11 ISA Rugby Tournament. With teams coming from all corners of the country, we knew we were going to be challenged and we were not disappointed by the standard of our opponents. Despite this, the boys gave some strong and determined performances and some of the tackling and defensive resistance that Gateway showed was admirable.

Between matches we were treated to two coaching clinics and the team were particular enthused by what the learnt from the Lions Sports Academy.

As the day drew to an end, the rain set in and the boys has to show great resilience in their final game. Learning opportunities were plentiful throughout the day in what was an excellent experience for all involved.

U9 Rugby v St Bernards - Tuesday 13th November

The U9 boys had an away fixture at St Bernards on Tuesday and continue to work on the technical and tactical aspects of their game that we have been focusing on in recent weeks. The performances of both teams were very good and as we continue to develop our team ethic more tries will undoubtedly follow in future games. It has been a good term for the boys so far with one game remaining next week.
