Sports update

Firstly and on a personal note I would like to say thank you to the children, staff and parents of Gateway for the very warm welcome I have received.

It has been a very quick start to the year here at Gateway and we have all hit the ground running in both PE and School Sport. I have been extremely impressed with how pupils have started their PE lessons, games afternoons and sports clubs. Their enthusiasm is second to none and it goes without saying that I have high hopes for the year ahead.

It is well known that physical activity is immensely important in a young person’s life to help them develop physically, emotionally and socially. Through high quality PE and positive school sport experiences, pupils will build self esteem, grow in confidence and be motivated and inspired to take part in physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle both whilst here and beyond their years at Gateway.

At Gateway, we are a relatively small school in comparison to some of the other schools in the local area and indeed the wider region, but this doesn't stop us from aiming high. Our sports clubs have all started and we have fixtures already added to the calendar.
