Sports Update
25th January 2019
Tuesday 15th January
The first football fixture of 2019 was a trip to Gayhurst for the Y4 Boys. Each of the boys played two matches and there was some excellent passing football on display. The teamwork shown by the teams was admirable, particularly as this is something that we have been working on in games lessons and in club. This was an excellent start and bodes well for a good season of development.
Wednesday 16th January
Wednesday saw two Y6 teams travel to St Bernard's for their first fixtures of the new year. Both matches were evenly contested with the two teams showing wholehearted commitment and determination to win. Most pleasing was seeing some of the passing moves that the boys put together and the way they maintained the depth, width and height when in possession of the ball. An excellent start to the season.
Thursday 17th January
The ISA Regional Football Tournament is a big highlight for many of the Y6 boys and you could sense the excitement as we set off early for the Power League Centre in Mill Hill. There were varied results for the two teams but ultimately neither side were able to qualify for the National Finals. The competition was strong on the day and we came away with lots of positives and plenty to work on throughout the term.
