Squash Festival, Friday 20 March 2015
27th March 2015
Year 5 have had three lessons introducing them to the techniques and rules of squash. Eight children, four girls and four boys, were selected to represent the school in an afternoon of squash activities and games against two other schools. Unfortunately, one school was unable to make it. Here is Adam W’s report.
I was absolutely thrilled to be chosen to attend the squash festival in High Wycombe and learn more about how to play squash. This event also made me realise how much I wanted to play squash and how fun it is!
The first thing we did on court was to practise our serving. This was interesting but I think that everyone, who went to the Squash Festival, would agree that playing competitive matches was not only challenging but great fun as well.
I won all of my matches as did Alex O’D and Ethan H, Tom W and Lucy L, Tilly W, Kimberley G and Angharad O also played well winning most of their matches. When the boys and girls scores were added together we were the winners by 316 pts to 221! We shook hands with our opponents before being presented with medals and having our photo taken.
I don’t ever think I will ever forget this spectacular day.
Squad: Kimberley G, Lucy L, Tilly W, Angharad B, Tom W, Alex O’D, Ethan H and Adam W
