Sport
ISA Regional Cross Country
Another busy week of sport for Gateway started with a trip to Bedford for the ISA Regional Cross Country on Tuesday. Unperturbed by the unexpected warm weather, the Gateway children performed brilliantly resulting in four children qualifying for the National Finals at the end of March. In the girls race, Beth finished 2nd with Katie in 3rd and Charlotte close behind in 5th place. Zach qualified in the boys section with his hard fought 3rd place finish.
The performances the other children did not go unnoticed though and with over 120 strong runners in each race they all gave runs to be proud. The children were reminded of the benefits of goal setting in running and they now have target times to try to improve on in the future.
U11 Boys Football v Gayhurst
All of the boys in Y6 were involved in the matches at Gayhurst on Wednesday and they played well in three very even 9-a-side games. There was little to chose between the two schools and some excellent football on show. The size of the pitch and duration of the matches made hard work for the boys but they showed their determination to work for each other by keeping going until the very end. The matches were rounded off with a match tea and the opportunity to socialise with their opponents after the game.
