ISA Swimming National Finals - Saturday 30 November

The London Aquatics Centre looked majestic in the late November sun and the swimming on show inside was a great spectacle too. Danica F had done brilliantly to qualify as the number one swimmer in London North for backstroke and freestyle which meant she represented the region in the individual races for these strokes. She placed highest in the backstroke where she just missed out on the medal positions, finishing fourth place.

Danica was joined by Zac Y and Zachary C for the afternoon session when all three Gateway swimmers took part in freestyle relays. The girls did not place in medal positions but Danica swam a strong leg which left her team in second place at the handover. There were medals for the boys who had an intense battle for bronze and after a nervous wait they were confirmed in third place, much to their delight.
Congratulations to all three swimmers who did themselves and Gateway proud!

U9 Hockey match v Gayhurst - Tuesday 3 December 2019

On Tuesday we took the year 4 girls over to Gayhurst. We played two games, and fought hard throughout. There were some fantastic goals scored by us, and some excellent defending against two strong Gayhurst teams. After playing two great matches, we were treated to an amazing match tea - pasta Bolognese and even a sausage roll for the teachers!

U11 Hockey v Gayhurst - Wednesday 4 December 2019

On Wednesday, it was our turn to host against Gayhurst. The year 6 girls have been working really hard in training, and their efforts paid off during game play. The girls played some fantastic hockey, particularly in defence. It is lovely to see their confidence grow more and more each game. There were big smiles at the end of all the matches, an excellent fixture for all involved!
