The U9s played Hockey against Piper’s Corner School on Tuesday afternoon. Both the A and B team started the match off very well keeping possession and showing good stick work. There was some great passing by the girls and excellent defence ensuring they kept Piper’s out of the ‘D’.

The girls worked hard to get the ball into the ‘D’ and had a number of shots at goal with a fantastic goal by Emilie P where she received the ball in the ‘D’ and hit it straight in with great power. The B team were up by 3 goals at half time showing great strength on the ball and playing with confidence in defence.

The games continued to go from strength to strength and both teams worked hard to keep their lead. The As unfortunately conceded a goal at the start of the second half but that gave them the motivation to continue to work hard. Their hard work paid off and Josie R and Zoe K scored a goal each from a penalty corner. The Bs kept up their fantastic efforts and kept possession. They made some great runs with the ball but unfortunately didn’t get any more goals. The As game ended 3-1 to Gateway and B’s ended 4-1 to Gateway. Excellent game from the U9s!
