World Book Day
9th February 2018
World Book Day is being celebrated in school on Friday 2nd March. Click WBD to link to the national web page for more information and ideas for activities with a reading focus to do over the weekend.
I have chosen a theme of houses and homes because it can cover many areas of the curriculum. I thought the children could think about what home means to them. We will read stories around this theme on the 2nd.
Of course, no book day would be complete without the children dressed up as a favourite book character! There is no charge for this. Children should dress up and bring with them the book from which the character is taken.
Book vouchers will be given out during the week. Children may use these at many book shops to purchase the specially selected titles for 2018.
I would love to see pictures of you and your children reading together over the weekend.
“Happy reading!”
