Year 1 children make their own books
9th October 2015
Year 1 children have been very busy in Science using their sense of touch to explore a variety of materials. They created their own books describing textures and choosing samples of material such as fabric, foil, paper and card to illustrate their book. They then had to describe the texture of the material using adjectives. This has supported our work in English where the children have been improving their writing by adding adjectives for description. They have even learnt to separate two adjectives in a list with a comma!
At home, please ensure children know their lines for the upcoming Celebration Assembly. We look forward to seeing you on Monday for the Curriculum Information (Parental Guidance) evening at 7pm.
