Year 1 children travel to Australia in Topic

We can’t quite believe another week has come to an end. Even the children are saying that the days are flying in Year 1. In Maths we were learning to identify whether a number is more than, less than or equal to another when given two or more numbers within 20. We were practising using the correct language and symbols. We used concrete manipulatives and pictorial representation to help us understand the relationship between given numbers and where to find them on a number line. In Topic we traveled all the way to Australia! We were amazed what treacherous weather conditions the explorers Burke & Wills faced while crossing the vast continent. We have also been busy learning our lines, singing our songs and practising our actions. We are getting very excited about next week. On Wednesday we will all descend to Great Missenden Hall for our dress rehearsal and on Friday we will present our Christmas Production in all its splendour to you all. Let the Christmas countdown begin!
