Year 1 enjoy a tour of Peterley Manor Farm

This week Year 1 enjoyed a fantastic tour of Peterley farm. We learnt how Farmer Roger plants his crops, such as strawberries, pumpkins and Christmas trees; he has a fantastic contraption that he pulls behind his tractor. We learnt how even the greenhouse has a special machine for planting out the seedlings into trays so that they can be sold in the nursery. It was great to see the Alpacas and to learn why they spit! Although we couldn’t have our snack in the Strawberry cafe yurt, we enjoyed a classroom picnic of strawberries and chocolate chip cookies! Hopefully, we can visit a farm shop over the holidays to look at all the produce.
