Year 1 enjoy first swim of the year
12th January 2018
We started the week with our first swim of Year 1 at Princes Risborough swimming pool, the children were very confident and well behaved.
We have read “A Dark, Dark Tale” in English and learnt to use repetition for effect in our own writing. The children used fantastic description and vocabulary, as well as capital letters and full stops in their super sentences.
In Maths we have focussed on place value and enjoyed using the Dienes equipment. We have been learning that two digit numbers are made of groups of 10’s and some ones.
Our special objects were a thrilling focus with the children speaking animatedly about their meaning in front of the class.
During topic and science we have continued our focus on rubbish and materials, the children have learnt to identify the materials our rubbish is made of. It would be great for the children to help with the recycling at home to help develop their understanding.
