Year 1 - Exploring Kenya and multiplication

Yet another busy and exciting week in Year 1. Everyone is pleased to be back and enjoying the sunshine.

In English we have enjoyed reading Handa’s Surprise. We have explored Kenya through different non fiction texts and written fact files using our new knowledge. In Maths we are developing our understanding of multiplication as repeated addition, understanding the difference between equal and not equal groups. We have been counting in 2s, 5s and 10s to find the total of multiple equal groups and of doubles.

To help us relax we have had some fantastic mindfulness sessions using Headspace. Next week we hope to take our session outdoors!
